    Kris Meeke gathers speed in Finland

    Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle moved into second position in the overall standings at Rally Finland during today’s long leg. On mostly new stages, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crews produced some fine performances. In the other DS3 WRC, Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson leapt up the standings from seventh to fifth position.

    Rally Finland got underway this afternoon in Jyväskylä with a short leg featuring four stages. After the first fifty-nine kilometres of timed stages, Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle lie third overall in their DS3 WRC. Their team-mates in the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson ended the day in seventh position.

    Quickfire confirmation for the Citroën drivers

    After a very useful test session organised ahead of recce, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team drivers were able to confirm the set-up of their DS3 WRCs during the Rally Finland shakedown. Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson ended the session with the second fastest time. Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle were just 1.5 seconds adrift of their team-mates.

At the fastest event on the calendar, which is particularly famous by its big jumps, the Scandinavians Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson and the British pair Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle will be aiming for strong result in their DS3 WRCs.

    One of the finest events in world rallying, Rally Finland hosts the third of the six rounds in the 2014 Junior WRC. The line-up features ten crews, each with drivers born after 1st January 1986, all competing in DS3 R3s. Winner of the first two rounds, the Frenchman Stéphane Lefebvre currently leads the overall standings, ahead of the German Christian Riedemann.
