On mostly new stages, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crews produced some fine performances. In the other DS3 WRC, Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson leapt up the standings from seventh to fifth position.

After the first fifty-nine kilometres of timed stages, Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle lie third overall in their DS3 WRC.
